Our history
For 60 years, Scies Miniatures has grown to deliver today's finest products on the market, for demanding professionals and enthusiasts.
Since its founding in 1966, Scies Miniatures has never ceased developing its production and product range, with a focus always centred on continuous innovation and product quality.

60th anniversary of Scies Miniatures
It is with great pride that Scies Miniatures celebrates its 60th birthday! And rightly so: at this level of maturity, the company has not rested on its past successes, but continues to develop products that meet market needs whilst maintaining its unmatched quality.
Launch of Flash® scroll saws
At the start of 2026, FLASH® scroll saws are launched. A new mid-range machine line, designed to meet growing demand in the European market. These machines are not intended to compete with Pégas®, which remains the representative of our premium products.

Expansion of the Dual range
In addition to the Pégas® Dual 13" scroll band saw, launched in 2023, a 10" and an 8" version are introduced during autumn 2025. Their success is immediate.
Change of ownership
Scies Miniatures is acquired during 2024 by the German Arenit group. A destiny that delights employees and customers alike, who join a group focused on SMEs and prioritising business continuity.

Launch of Pégas® Dual scroll band saws – standard band saw and scroll saw in one!
Development and launch of a new scroll band saw concept: the DUAL. As a standard band saw, it converts easily and quickly into a scroll band saw. It is the first machine of this type in the world. This principle was later copied, but Scies Miniatures remains the only manufacturer in the world capable of producing ultra-fine bands for scroll sawing.
Launch of an exclusive active foot pedal
Scroll sawyers want better control over cutting speed whilst keeping their hands on the workpiece. From this observation, the Pégas® active foot pedal was born, now an essential accessory for Pégas® scroll saws.

New cutting-edge electronic boards for Pégas® saws
Development of a Swiss Made electronic board, reliable and safe, for Pégas® scroll saws. It replaces the Taiwanese boards whose reliability was clearly in need of improvement.
Development and launch of 3 new Pégas® blades
The market demands new quality saw blades with clearly defined specifications. The Super-Skip, Progressive and Dovetail blades are born.

Birth of Pégas® scroll saws
The Excalibur brand disappears and Scies Miniatures takes over the scroll saws under the Pégas® brand. These machines, manufactured in Taiwan, are improved according to Scies Miniatures' criteria and requirements. In particular, new ultra-lightweight clamping heads are developed in collaboration with the School of Engineering in Yverdon, Switzerland.
Launch of the Super Pike brand, Made in Vallorbe
Launch of a new jeweller's saw brand under the name SUPER PIKE. This brand is launched to replace the discontinued Super-Glardon blades from the Usines Métallurgiques de Vallorbe (UMV).

Launch of two major innovations: scroll saw bands and scroll band saws, a world first
In collaboration with the Swiss manufacturer of the famous wooden cows, Trauffer, Scies Miniatures develops Pégas® scroll saw bands. This is followed by the launch of the first Pégas® scroll band saw, the famous SRP14CE. This machine is a worldwide innovation as it is the only band saw that offers the possibility of scroll sawing.
Start of scroll saw sales
To develop sales of Pégas® saw blades, Scies Miniatures becomes the exclusive European distributor of Excalibur scroll saws, of Canadian origin (General International).

Development and implementation of proprietary production machines
Scies Miniatures develops its own machines for the production of Pégas® scroll saw blades.
From this point on, these blades are stamped. This marks the birth of the stamped blade, the only one to offer a true tooth set.
Launch of the Pégas® brand and market introduction
Beginning of activities in scroll saw blades
Bosch develops a scroll saw: Scies Miniatures wins the contract to become the blade manufacturer. Unfortunately, Bosch shelves the project. However, this machine will resurface a few years later under their other brand: Dremel.
Construction of the Scies Miniatures factory and relocation to Vallorbe
The development of jeweller's saw activity continues and the quality of Swiss blades is recognised worldwide. Scies Miniatures' major customers are Grobet USA and the Usines Métallurgiques de Vallorbe (UMV) with their private label Super-Glardon®.
